blogger hosting
Today I moved my blog subdomain to blogger hosted service. I was getting notices that ftp publishing was shutting down, so a month later I finally fixed it. I am not sure it required fixing as I rarely use it. But since I did migrate it, I started playing around with new setting available. Hope you like the new layout!

Firefox extensions
I have recommended using Firefox to many people lately, usually after they were infected with dozens if not hundreds of spyware, trojans etc. (which often make their way in via activeX in IE) .
The other thing I suggest is get some extensions (I usually recommend NoScript for added layer of security)
But often I am asked what I use, so here is a screenshot of my extension window:

PortaPuTTY - Portable Putty for USB
Finally, someone has hacked the venerable PuTTY ssh client to store its settings in the filesystem rather than the registry. That means, settings are easily copied to other machines and especially your USB flash drive.
Now I can ssh tunnel to vnc and remeber the settings on the road.

resurrection?
first lets see if this works? a new machine running web, email, etc now up and running and the last thing needed to be setup was blog.
The server is a p550 with 448MB of ram now running Ubuntu breezy. Ubuntu is the easiest to setup and use linux distro i have used yet I am very pleased.
Only things that need improvement are webcam support and maybe better burning/copying software for DVDs.

dude, getting a dell
Decided to order a laptop, and its a dell 600m ..and now I wait for it. The idea behind a laptop is to save some space in condo. When you have limited space having a desktop can take up some valuable space, SO once lappy arrives, I'll toss the desk and put the desktop in a closet or on a shelf.

Firefox
Well in response to the latest warnings about IE, I thought I'd take firefox for a spin. It's comparable to MYIE2 , but is not IE based. I think it's strength is the addons that are made for it.
I like the bookmark synchronization addon..which means I can have my bookmarks on any of my machines and they are always the same.
